Mono Monday...Through the Window

Through the window of my car, that is.

I am surrounded by white headstones. Out the front window, through both side windows, and in my rear-view mirror.

No matter how many times I drive through the Great Lakes National Cemetery, I am always moved. A solemn place. A somber place. A place of reverence.

But...it is also a conflicting place. While I am a LONG LONG WAY from being a warmonger, I always wish that there would be no need to have armed forces...no need to go to war...no need to have veterans cemeteries.

Alas...reality sets in. We have conflicts, we enter a war...men and women die, and men and women need to be buried.

Through my window...in my mirror...the graves of the dead.

Thanks to Rainie for hosting.
