When I was a child one of my Dad’s hobbies was photography- he had an old Zorkie camera and developed and printed his own photos in a makeshift darkroom that I found tremendously exciting to be in, with its red lightbulbs and exotic chemical processes. I never really got to take photos myself though as I was considered too young to be trusted with such expensive and highly breakable equipment. I am no more responsible now, having made it into the latter half of my “century” but a chance conversation with a very talented amateur photographer/colleague/friend has hugely rekindled my interest in photography and given me the added fun of blogging. I have always liked to write nonsense for my own entertainment- now, with a photo as the focal point, I find I have something to write about. I already love this site and am enjoying exploring other people’s journeys and seeing their images.
