I am properly hooked on blip!
I have met some of the friends I follow, in Portugal and northern England. Blip is now a huge, happy and creative part of my life; taking the photos, processing and posting, following friends and commenting. What a great place to spend time - thanks for dropping by!
3rd update:
Not that far off 1000 blips now, and I have recently stopped working at the fine age of 61. I can hardly believe my luck, 4 years of time I expected to spend at work is mine for the using. So I'm a pensioner of sorts, working now and then with language checks of academic texts, translations - and sometimes teaching. Most recently teaching people who are working as volunteers with newly arrived immigrants who want to learn Swedish as fast as they can. My new name is also the name of my little company - probably!
2nd text:
I have been blipping for a while now and felt I should update this profile text, so I did. But it isn't here so I must have done something wrong somewhere...
Which leads me onto saying that I only seem to learn from doing things wrong! I have recently bought a new camera, a Lumix Panasonic with a fantastic 30X zoom and many a feature yet to be explored. It's small enough to always have it with me which is changing the sorts of images I take.
I LOVE Blipfoto! I enjoy browsing entries, reading the journals and just looking at images makes my day brighter and more inspired. I am so very grateful to have found myself in such a sustaining and encouraging community of people interested in pictures - and each others' blip-lives.
Here's the original entry, just for the record:
I'm a British/Swedish woman born in the North West of England in 1955, moved to Sweden in 1979. I work as an art teacher within teacher training and sometimes even teach English - which I did for over 20 years.
I live in the country outside Härnösand, a little town of about 30,000 souls on the coast half way up Sweden. Our village has 20 houses.
Creativity is central in my life, my hands are often busy - knitting, drawing, mending things, folding paper and so on - even when "resting".
My iPad has changed the way I make images quite radically. It limits and it also enables, which is interesting! I am mostly using the iPad for my blips. I do have a camera but more or less stopped taking photos when I found it got between me and the experience. The iPad is less like that somehow...
Having watched my husband blipping for ages I got involved myself - I really do love photos, his, mine and yours too! I'm really enjoying the comments people write, and the feeling of an encouraging community of people with a great interest in photos. Thanks for dropping in!
