I was born in the place I live in March of 1959.

My first SLR was a Zenith-E (which I still own) but a well-paid job in the summer break as a student of Design for Print, netted a Canon AE1. At one stage I had two A1 cameras, an AV1, and a Bronica ETR-C.
When Canon couldn't figure-out autofocus, I moved to Minolta (to become Konica Minolta, before they sold-out to Sony).

I now use an Alpha 580 - gifted to me by Sony because (I imagine) my previous one failed and the waiting would be months, until I 'mentioned' - at the time - I was working for Currys..

I worked (for too long) as an AV Technician at Napier College and left when it had achieved University status after over 22 years.
Between there and Currys (where Customers from previous stores 'followed' me because of my integrity and knowledge), I worked at Jessops and Comet.
When I had my Minolta cameras, I also used a Mamiya RZ ProII with two lenses and an AE [701] head.

I have worked most of my life but despite four tertiary qualifications, I am now - it would appear - on the scrapheap having applied unsuccessfully for almost 2,500 jobs.
So I spent the day with my 'new' dog, Brodie - as my beloved Alfie was put to sleep June 15th 2013 @ 8.29pm aged 'just' 20. I am writing a book 'for' him, though I'll never forget him - if it is published, maybe it'll help somebody else's sorrow.

Spare time is spent looking forlornly for jobs and with my camera, or waiting for my wife to come home. I've been married over 25 years.

I have to get a job as I have depression not working.
