I started my photography when I was a teenager using a Pentax film camera and developing black and white film at home in a converted room, suffice to say it only lasted a few years. Work, Marriage and other commitment then took over and photography had to take a back seat for some time.
Digital started me off again in 2001, my first digital camera was a Nikon E950 with a 2.1 megapixel sensor and a 3X optical zoom was a revelation. This was followed by a series of compact cameras until in 2005 I purchased my first DSLR a Nikon D70, the instantaneous shutter response and the flexibility of interchangeable lens was a great improvement. I now use a Nikon D610  with a range of lens from 16mm to 300mm.
I like having full control over my photography from taking the picture to the post processing. I have used a variety of software, but now use Adobe Lightroom, this program enables me to catalogue, develop, and print photographs in addition to producing slideshow and uploading to the web.
As I am retired I intend to spend some more time taking photos and hopefully improving the standard of my photography
