Born in Rayners Lane, Metroland. ‘Hard Day’s Night’ and ‘Help!’ at the Art-Deco cinema at the end of our street. Moved further up the met line, got our first telly for the ‘66 World Cup (We won it! The cup, not the telly). School, paper round, football matches, Saturday job, gigs, Harrow Art School, the ICA, designing film posters in Soho, the eighties, the nineties, the Pennine Way, the Coast-to-Coast, moved up north - never looked back, family life. Work in Manchester, sleep in West Yorkshire... I’m not a photographer. I take photographs. I’m finding an increasing need (maybe it’s my age) to stand in front of things and record them. I wish I’d started doing it earlier...
