I am 40 years old, married since 1999, have a 22 year old son and a dog named Jack.

I started walking in 1994 aged 13, when I took part in a 4 day walk (vier daagse) in Nijmegen, Netherlands with my school.
I did tons of practice walks, both organised with the group and with my dad, plus gained badges for walking Avebury to Stonehenge and 2 days of 25 miles starting and finishing at RAF Benson (these were qualifying walks to go to Nijmegen).

I then left school, had my son, got married and stopped walking as a release. I gained a lot of weight and was generally unfit.

In 2015, I joined Slimming World, took 3 years to lose 7 stone! I gained my mojo back and also got my four legged partner in crime.

I started walking again, found walks/trails wherever I am going to visit, either with my wife and/or with Jack.
I enjoyed walking so much, that for my 40th birthday last year, I walked the full length of The Kennet and Avon Canal over 7 days (97miles)!!!

On my actual birthday, I walked across 2 aqueducts, Avoncliff and Dundus, as well as spectacular scenery.

Since then, I've found more local walks that I have done and can do during lockdown. Plus I have signed up to do the South West Coast 2 Coast Challenge, walking from Minehead to Dawlish over 2 days this July!
