I bought my first SLR when I was 16 after being bitten by the photography bug when I took a course in photography at school...I liked photography before that but I took the course because I thought it would be a skive more than anything...little realising that I would gain a love for photography that has never diminished...

My first SLR was a Practika MTL5B which I bought for the equivalent of 4 weeks wages...but 22 years later it still takes great pictures...

As time went by though and digital became the main medium of photography my poor Practika gained a layer of dust because I turned traitor and used a Samsung compact...promising myself that when I could I'd get back into SLR photography...that time came last year when I got my Nikon D3000 and I've never regretted it once...

A little about myself...I'm a very proud scotsman who loves taking pictures of my country...if you can't get good landscapes here you will never get them...I work in a sawmill producing timber for pallets and potato boxes...so a lot of my blips are evening photos in the winter as its dark by the time I get home...
