Get Back to Me

By GetBacktoMe

Top Gear!

If you watch Top Gear this evening (BBC2 7p.m) - or indeed if you watched it last night, you will see Jeremy Clarkson driving a Jaguar XJ from Lands End to Lowestoft, on midsummer day 2010.

To launch the Get Back to Me business we carried out a similar journey - but we did it correctly, starting at the most easterly point of the UK mainland - Lowestoft at 4.30 am on 21st June to see the sun rise, and ending at Land's End - the most westerly point of England the same evening to see the sun set.

Frustratingly, when we walked out to the most westerly point of England to see the sun set,we were denied access, because of Jeremy Clarkson and the Top Gear crew.

Land's End is of course not the most westerly point of mainland Britain - as stated on Top Gear - the claim for that is Ardnamuchan point, on the west coast of Scotland. By total coincidence I visited it last August and it is so much nicer than the rather tacky Land's End Experience, and well worth a visit.

This blip is an image of the blog page, showing the stick of ROCK purchased at each point - the one from Lowestoft was very stale and soft - I didn't take it back.
