New evergreen clematis buds

Soon these will explode into fragrant and delicate blooms and stand in sharp contrast to the chilly end of Feb. weather here. Very tired from our trip to the Bay area...we are going to celebrate a good friend's 70th birthday. He has just had a bout with leukemia and is doing great so we celebrate his life!
