Another sunny day

I was trying to capture the effect the intensely bright sunlight and our attempts to shade ourselves from it has on our eyrie. This is a view through the opened lower sash on the seemingly blisteringly hot street below - except of course that this being Scotland the intensity of the light doesn't signify an equal intensity of heat.

But I hope this some idea of how it felt there this afternoon.

The alternative photo was of sprig of daphne mezerium on our old shrub. It smelt wonderful even before the sun had warmed it.
