A stunner of a day today, and half a million dogs being walked at Cramond. After my walk here I went to Ocean Terminal and read another chapter of Sebastian Faulks' 'One Week in December'; it is a work of genius and in its own way scary as hell.

Then, as the weather was still holding, we drove to North Berwick in the afternoon. Exciting, eh?
