'Fluffy'

The 21st day is when miracles happen...

My mother tended her incubator of chicken eggs diligently. Monitoring the temperature, taking care that the egss were rolled at the correct intervals and filling the little resevoir of water to keep the shells pliable.
Day 21, peeping began to eminate from the little incubator. For hours the chicks struggled to free themselves of their calcium wombs.
Finally, this little wet chick popped out. This 'portrait' was struck at about one hour old, it's almost completely dry and ready to start livin' life as the first baby chick of spring.

Life is a miracle.
