Heidelberger Schloss

Bless it, a lot's happened to the old Schloss over time. Various stramashes with the Holy Roman Empire, Lightning and goodness knows what else have done a very good job of reducing it to this and not much else (I'm not counting the Pharmacy museum or the World's Biggest Barrel). The Schloss will look fabulous when they've finished with the restoration. That'll take about 200 years I think.

Heidelberg is very pretty although it does suffer from a LOT of graffiti - and all in that (to me) unreadable script. I was quite taken aback by how much there was. Terribly ugly in comparison to a lot of the buildings.

On the way home we stopped in Heppenheim. This is the home town of Sebastian Vettel. The town centre is reminiscent of a Scottish new town circa 1975 and one can understand why he wanted to leave so quickly. The town centre apart there's very nice old quarter with some fabulously wonky buildings. No sign of Sebastian though.
