I've played in countless games that were about being better than the other team, but also about being better than your own team. Dazzling the weaker players with your skills.

However, my favourite games have been different, where everyone plays hard, but somehow makes sure everyone enjoys it. Weaker players get passed the ball more often. Small achievements are praised, on both sides. Egos are left with the jumpers.
