The Lizard Meanders

Dusk

On our way home this evening, driving down Colley Avenue, we passed this church.
It has a lovely set of heavy double doors with a contemporary carving that looks almost like a yin and yang symbol. Will have to go back sometime to Blip it.

And here is "Meditation on a Seam", my poem today now up on Via Negativa.

The trigger was, as usual, a post on Dave Bonta's The Morning Porch; and somehow the images he used on today's Porch post made me think of braces and carpentry, torque, tension, ballast... I found a curious bit of etymology while rooting around for synonyms for "batter" or "beat" -- an old Welsh word, bytl, which means mallet. I love discovering things like this.
