Here's a little fairytale: Age 10 or so I nearly lost my toe in a freak long-grass-running-bare-feet and discarded-crockery accident. I got a gift of this 19th century 'Uncle Remus' book, which I've had since and which I'm now off to find out more about. I remember my uncle - Irish but lived in Australia for 20 years - trying to read it in the correct 19th -century black southern american accent as phonetically written in the book . a combination never heard before or since.
