An Irish View

All that remains

I was surveying a house today in Cork.

The house had just been bought by a wealthy property investor.

The previous owner was a woman of 104 who had never married and had no children.

Her nephew got the proceeds from the sale of the house. He managed to take the money but didn't bother to remove any of her things.

All that remained to show that this woman had ever existed were left in this box which was left to rot like the rest of the house.
