Heritage

What a fantastic day for our Libraries & Museums section, the opening of the new Heritage Centre within Dumbarton Library. It has been an exciting development from the newly integrated team of Libraries & Museums, bringing together the skills and expertise of all sections.

The new heritage centre replaces what was the learning centre, which has been relocated into the old Local History room. Throughout the process we have had positive comments from the public. My hope is that we continue to deliver a great service around the new displays and exhibitions, and build on the successful partnership that is now Libraries & Museums.
The space also gives us an additional event space that can be used for screenings and talks.

The new heritage centre will be put to the test during Local History Week, we have seven class visits over four days and an open day next Saturday. We also have an evening talk for International Women's Day next Tuesday.

Oh, and the chocolate cakes were good too!
