Out for a ride

Today the sun managed to drive away the fog & it was probably the nicest day this year for a ride. Cool but no wind. Angie had Asyr, our chesnut Arab as a lead horse as he pulled a tendon (80%) last summer & was ordered to be locked away in his stable for 1 year. By the time the vet had got to the end of the drive, we had let him out on to the paddock and he started to recover very quickly. The vet was amazed when he returned just 4 days later to put a caste on the leg. We knew that a) being an Arab and b) 25 years old, he would only be quiet if allowed to be with his partner, Rosie the black Quarter Horse. Hopefully soon we can try very slowly to start riding him again - having said "we"; for some time that's only been Angie, but I think that with warmer times ahead and for the benefit of the horse, I ought to get back in the saddle. After all I have a name to protect!
