I love beech hedges. They make a real green wall, with which I make separate compartments in the garden; every turn a new surprise. They make a complete universe for birds and especially blackbirds. It is fascinating to see how their buds grow and explode into new twigs with leaves and all.
Beech hedges are becoming increasingly popular in these parts. Must have something to to with nostalgia or country living feeling.
