The Bridge over the Atlantic

I spent much of today on the island of Easdale and had a great time. Prior to lunch and meeting members of the community Mike MacKenzie - former Argyll candidate and long term resident of the island - took us round and we saw much of its amazing geology and history including the slate quarries flooded in the great storm of 1881, which removed the island's livelihood at one stroke. I took lots of pictures, but the blip is actually from the neighbouring island of Seil, through which you have to drive to get the little ferry to Easdale. Seil is joined to the mainland by "The Bridge over the Atlantic" whose history is also fascinating. This was taken from the centre of the ancient bridge, looking south. It had been another grey day and the light was already fading at around half past four.
