Louvre--Pyramid with Sun

Today was the first Sunday of the month, and thus the Louvre Museum was open free to all comers. Another brilliantly sunny day!

There were long waits for security (as one sees here at the upper right corner of I.M. Pei's brilliant pyramid). But once inside, no line-up for tickets, and plenty of enthusiastic museum-goers.

Fun to view large. In the foreground you see a couple of the statues which line the facade at the level of the first floor--the one in the center seems to be waving at the crowd.

We're on the second (top) floor. I merged this from a pair of horizontal shots in Photoshop. The originals were taken in RAW, which permitted reducing the highlights in the conversion process. A broader panorama (archived for 2009) is here.
