Sirius Cove

Left Sydney today, but beforehand had a sandwich at Sirius Cove, which is a charming inlet on the edge of Sydney Harbour, and one of my favourite places.

In the late 1800s it was home to a camp of impressionist  artists known as 'the Heidelberg School', Tom Roberts and Arthur Streeton being  among them.  These artists produced some of the most iconic and evocative Australian paintings.

Incredibly, the bushland remains, just below Taronga Park Zoo.

I happened upon these women continuing the time honoured tradition.
They kindly allowed me to blip them, but it felt intrusive  to get any closer than this.
