Sensopoly

Whilst extremely bored at some training day recently I thought 'how could I improve the monopoly board'. Lots of people have customised the property names but, for artistic purposes, I wanted to fill the gap in the centre and tie it in with that other great iconic London design, the underground map.

To preserve the icon I had to keep Old Kent Road and Mayfair - the worst and the best - but the other titles could do with a revamp. It then dawned on me that if you reverse the direction of travel to anti-clockwise and start on the left, not only are these sites in roughly the right location but the colours of the property groups coinside reasonably closely (with a little artistic licence) with the colours of the tube lines.

Also, and this is where it gets even more interesting, the values of property starting in the south-west and advancing anti-clockwise to the west of London do progressively increase in value - as in the original game. In my version the utilities and other 'stations' are also geographically coincidental with London landmarks. The Tower of London (Jail) IS in that corner and is a major tourist (Just Visiting) attraction. Battersea Power Station (Electric Company) is about there...and so on. My favourite, which took some lateral thinking, is Highgate. Do you get it?

All makes more sense.
