WOMEN'S SITUATION IN NORWAY:
- Women earn on average 15 percent less than men per hour.
- Men have 84 percent of the power positions
- 7 of 10 leaders are men.
- the Norwegian labor market is one of the most gender-segregated in the industrialized part of the world.
- 43 percent of all employed women work part time.
- 90 per cent of parental leave be taken by women
- Women spend still more than twice as much time as men at work in the home.
- Between 8000 and 16,000 women suffer rape every year
- 12 percent of young girls experiencing unwanted sexual attention at work one or more times a month, compared with two percent of boys.
WOMEN'S SITUATION IN AN INTERNASJONAL PERPECTIVE:
- Women own only 1 percent of properties in the world
- Women work 66 percent of all working hours receive 10 percent of all income
- 350,000 women die each year in connection with pregnancy and childbirth. In sub-Saharan Africa die 1 of 30 during pregnancy and childbirth
- Each year an estimated 22 million women experience unsafe abortions. Of these about 50,000 die
