Toripolliisi

Toripolliisi is the guardian of Oulus marketplace. This statue made from bronze watches the scenery over the marketplace to the sea without any signs of defeat. Toripolliisi is a local dialect for the market place police, where the dialect part comes from the double l's in the word. Not really something that everyone in finnish couldn't understand but still very distinctive difference I guess.

Today had few hours to spent after the work before the kendo practice started. Did short walk at the town and visited local supermarkets grocery department to buy some Brie and Camembert cheese from the cheesedesk, where happy young lady gave me some recommendations. Lovely.
