Local History Talk - Blitz

As part of Local History Week this year, Dave Carson was invited to Dalmuir Library this evening to give a talk on the Clydebank Blitz. Dave, a local historian, has interviewed many local people about their experiences during the blitz.

The official accounts of the 13th & 14th March, 1941 were portrayed by Dave, but it was the recollections from survivors of the blitz that added a true realism to the evening. The audience were given time for a Q&A session at the end of the talk, which lead to more reminiscing from survivors and new stories being told.
Even the weather this evening couldn't stop the 70 audience members attending.

Within Dalmuir Library is the Back Door Gallery which at present has an exhibition based on the Clydebank Blitz.
BBC1 Scotland are also showing a programme about the Blitz this Sunday at 6pm.
