Water

After 17 days without running water we have been re-connected. T's recently married brother came round and hooked us up to the street by-passing our existing damaged pipes. A temporary fix until we can get a much more expensive permanent fix. Thankfully EQC should be footing the bill. However, all tap water must still be boiled for the foreseeable future.

T's brother did remark before he left that the pipes would, "freeze in the winter." Still a few months off but given that EQC still hadn't seen us following the Sept quake, somewhat ominous.

Going without, especially in your own home makes one realize how much we take water for granted and how wasteful of such a precious resource we can be. And also that I wish I'd learned a trade.
