Centuries of Sentries

To enter the grounds of a Buddhist temple in Korea, you must first pass through a gate housing four guardian statues.
Commonly huge and made from wood, they can also be carved from stone or simply painted onto doors. Various guardians carry all manner of objects, from swords and guitars, to dragons and snakes.
The figures represent the power of wisdom over ignorance, and Buddhists will bow three times to them as they pass through the gate.

I've never noticed a blue one before, so I decided to snap him and his sword-wielding friend on our way to Kapsa Temple.
