The destroyed city ...

Today was a day of stormy wheather. Rain now and then and threatening skies. During my walk through the city I passed the statue of Ossip Zadkine. Zadkine and Rotterdam are joined together by this statue 'for ever'. It's a memorial to the destruction of the city of Rotterdam in 1940 by the Germans. More about Zadkine you can read here. The statue and the threatening sky symbolized the memories of those dark days ... then ... times we may not forget.
