More crocus

Spring is traditional crocus time. I have a "native" (really the cultivar Legacy developed at University of Nebraska) buffalo grass lawn that is late to green up, so savy gardeners learned to plant bulbs to give interest in an off season for the lawn.

Luck for both the bulbs and buffalo grass (blue grama works as well)they work very well togther and several local gardeners have discovered it is a good way to grow several difficult to grow native and non native bulbs. Crocus of course are not difficult or native but they really love the lawn.
