Ironic?

My friend Christine and I went into Boston late this afternoon. We met at a bookstore, then went for a walk around the city before getting dinner. She was very patient with my stopping to take a picture every ten feet. We cut through Boston Public Garden and came across this monument to the creation of ether at Mass General Hospital. I thought this quote was interesting given the outcome of the Superbowl this evening.
