Getting There.

A bitterly cold North wind blowing down the loch and through the village, some occasional glints of winter sunshine with really dark , threatening skies over the snow topped peaks which surround the village. Not a day for meandering anywhere but needs must , as border collies need to get rid of their boundless energy. So a walk up the main road , which is like a wind tunnel and it sounded like one of those horror movies with the wind howling in our ears . Through the village , across the old bridge where the river is gushing in torrents over the boulders and round into a lovely peaceful winding lane sheltered at last from the howling wind only to meet it again as we rounded on to the shore.

To compensate for not getting his two hour walk up the hill we threw pebbles for Oscar to chase and bring back , he exercised we watched! Wouldn't have attempted to get any shots out there today , took us all our time to stay vertical in the force of the wind never mind holding a camera steady.

So just as well I got some shots of my favourite litle siskins , not quite so windy but you can still see where the wind ruffled his breast feathers.

Apologies if you are getting fed up with my siskin shots but I am working really hard with ny challenge to myself to improve my bird shots , having started in earnest last month. Think I'm getting somewhere and the shots are improving , this one has only a very small edge of dark area at the right cropped off.
Hope your weekend has been a good one.
Mary
