Metamorphosis

My son is approaching his eleventh birthday. It has been in a bit of a trying season sandwiched between being a young child and beginning to earn some more independence. Two steps forward and one step back. So much behind those thoughtful eyes. I can only see some of what he is becoming but I know it will be something quite remarkable. He is off the chart creative. I'll try to be patient and enjoy this metamorphosis, I know it will only last a moment in the big picture of our lives. Truthfully, some days, I still wish to push fast forward but I will try again to wait and let it come in its own time
