Day One: Edinburgh to Shanghai.

Flight from Edinburgh to Charles De Gaulle delayed by an hour and a bit.
Made up time in flight and arrived in Paris with just about time to make the transfer for the flight to Shanghai. However, they couldn't find the stairs to let us off the plane. When we did get off, we had to get onto a bus that took us all round the houses. Saw our plane sitting on the tarmac as we drove past to the inbound terminal.

Worse still, some daft woman on route to Disneyland decided that it was just wrong that the pram she was pushing wouldn't fit onto the bus unless she folded it up. She spent about ten minutes remonstrating with the ground crew. Not sure what she wanted them to do but she kept at it. Was about ready to go off and fold it up for her before she eventually decided to give up and get on board.

Arrived at terminal to be shown the way to our connecting flight only to be told we had to wait on another bus, which would arrive in about ten minutes. Gave up and made our own way there back through security. Running with a week and six months worth of carry on, we almost made it. The plane was still on the runway but they had closed the gate early. Think the plane had been over subscribed. So 9 hour lay over in Paris. Just a bit annoyed when we were told that we could enjoy a day in the city - complete with all the luggage.

Anyway, having got out of bed in time for an 8am check in, we made our way to the gate to catch the next flight at 11.15pm. We weren't the only sleepy people there.
