Canal with coltsfoot

On a day trip to the midlands lozarithm and I enjoyed a glorious sunny walk along the canal towpath at Bodymoor Heath with our 85 - year old Dad.

The pretty yellow flower is coltsfoot tussilago farfara, which grows in bare, disturbed ground, but nothing like as commonly as dandelion. The flowers appear before the leaves and the flower stems are covered in scales.
