Leviathan

Sort of ship, sort of jack-up rig - the Leviathan is one of the world's few windfarm building ships.

The big round tubes facing the camera are the bases of the blades - in close up you can see the masses of bolts that will hold them on. Very, very big Meccano really. The rest of the turbines - the gearbox and the pylon parts are in the back part of the ship. Each bit is added and then the ship is jacked up higher to add the next bit, and so on.

Foggy, but now sunny outside of Harwich harbour. And almost time to go home which is the best news of all....
