ok. so... i need some venting time. so this may be long...

alrighty...

had a great weekend. overall. it was good. filmed my movie for cinematics class. did some nice bonding with dan, watched a cute animation, played old school mario.. it was a good weekend. i even saw my mom for a short while which was really nice, cause i miss her a lot

monday was an early start. 5:45am to get to my place to grab the camera & grab the tripod to take to school to upload the footage before returning them. so i came into my history of animation class an hour late.

then we watched.. fritz the cat. which is an adult themed movie about a cat. that was produced in the 70's. we watched the first 10-ish mins of it. there was a lot of swearing. saw a few cartoon penii. (yes, i've decided the plural for penis is now penii) a fair amount of drug use, and then a significantly long orgy, involving drug use...

went into animation class. left an hour early because i wanted to work somewhere that wasnt -10 indoors. got an intimidating assignment for animation class. i basically have to design, build, light & animate one of these... alarmingly difficult.

skipped my first two classes today because dan and i have been bickering a bit. and because i hate those classes... and because i like sleeping... and i think we need some time apart, theres a a lot weighing on us both & having to worry about another person being around all the time can really push everything to the breaking point

went in this afternoon for the nude model
-which, let me tell you, was definitely a rip off! i mean, when we have nude women they are relatively attractive, so i'm thinking, yeah nude male - awesome. totally not the equivalent. he was old.. like.. probably 50-60. the women we had were 30's. cute faces. generally attractive.. i think our male teacher is running us girls short of having the same kind of experience! lame :(
we drew on coloured paper today to try to define midtones.. which i was terrible at.. but i liked having control over where the lighting was with the white conte stick. and then i could do the dark shadows..

i'm definitely getting better.. the above picture was a 15 min drawing (including shading & lighting)
