Red-bellied Sapsucker

Today we went to Goldstream Provincial Park on Vancouver Island, British Columbia to search for three special species of birds, American Dipper, Pacific Wren, and Red-bellied Sapsucker. It wasn't hard to find the first two, however, the sapsucker remained hidden. Why we were photographing the Pacific Wren, a group of teenagers walked by us and asked what we were doing. We told him we were photographing birds and they said, you mean like that redheaded woodpecker We saw. One of the girls pulled out her cell phone and behold she had a picture of the sapsucker. They told us where they found the bird and of course we went to see if we could locate it. It was right where they said it was. It ignored us and we were able to spend a half-hour photographing it.
