Ponderosa

A bit nicer day today, and the fog's finally lifted! This is a shot of The Ponderosa, one of the three Crookesmoor Parks (along with Crookes Valley Park and Weston Park). It was given its name informally by local kids in the 1960s, who named it after the ranch in the TV series 'Bonanza', but it's now known by that name officially (although it does sometimes go under the less evocative title of Crookesmoor East Recreation Ground).

I'm visiting the site daily at the moment as it's a good spot for Chiffchaffs, which should be arriving back and singing any day now. No luck yet, though!
