Gerrards Cross Station

This is a statue to remember the navies who built this railway from Birmingham to London.

I'm off in to London today and this track will take me in to Marylebone.

Gerrards Cross was put on the map when the rail tunnel which was being constructed to hold the weight of a new supermarket collapsed and blocked this main rail line for weeks.
The supermarket chain had this great idea..no really a great idea, of building in the gap made by the deep railway cutting. So they end up with a large shop right in the town centre where there was no land to build on before.
