Pain relief

A life were you live for the next four hours being almost pain free is no good and when the doctors just want to fill you full of pill to kill the pain and not the problem what are you supposed to do I managed about thee hours yesterday that were pain free but only because I had taken 15 mg of diazepam so how do I get through today? I have got sciatica and the pain is unbearable can anyone please help.
