Blades and man at work

Seen from the powerturbine, the part of the gasturbine where the hot gasses from combustion pass through, giving the energy to the rotating blades.
Temperature at these blades is 1272°C, (2321°F), that's why they are coated.
Furthermore you can see the tiny holes in the top of the blades where cooling air is flowing through.

In the back a tecnician is removing the last row of blades from the compressor in order to replace them by new ones.

When I was entering this one I looked out the window and saw the sun going down over the new switchgear which is being used in the future by our competitors NUON and RWE (Essent) here at Eemshaven.
