Sunrise Over Sandia Mountain

The sky had a light cloud cover when I went to bed last night, so I set my alarm to wake me before sunrise. I walked through the bosque in the chilly dawn light and stopped at the river's edge, sitting on a stump to watch the sun come over the mountain. This was not a morning for bright colors. My hands got very cold, but the light on my walk back home was glorious. Soon the air was warm and full a spiring and juniper pollen. Let the sneezing begin.
