When baking goes bad

So I thought it would be a nice idea to make some lovely cupcakes, decorated all nicely, to take to work to cheer everyone up, in the face of company-wide redundancies. A long shot perhaps.

The cakes themselves were dead nice, beetroot and chocolate. But no matter how much icing sugar I ploughed into my icing, it insisted on flopping. Not the glorious icing peaks I had imagined.

Bored of baking.

UPDATE: I have just been informed that I may have overwhipped my icing. Interesting.
