This bud is on our small magnolia tree which grows in the back garden. It's exposed to the Scottish elements and lost a limb in the heavy December snowfalls.

But that's all in the past now - this was the first real warm day of Spring here, and we spent a few hours this afternoon in the garden, weeding, scarifying the lawn, tidying the drive, and cleaning the pond. It felt good :o)

btw, I'm continually impressed by the performance of my modest Panasonic DMC-TZ3. On the down side, it means I have no real excuse to upgrade :(
