Nature's Wonders

How do these beautiful bougainvillea grow out of the trunk of a palm tree? I go by this on my running route and today my battery went dead on my camera..... No worries, though, because I had my trusty iPhone as a backup! I love the textures and colors in the trunk against the deep pink bougainvillea!
