SCREAMIN' STREAMERS

One by one Tornado F3s from RAF Leuchars in Fife are positioning to RAF Leeming in Yorkshire to end their days. At RAF Leeming they will be broken up and I would imagine sold for scrap with any vital components being used towards the Tornado GR4 fleet of which there are some currently on operations in Libya and Afghanistan.

Now, with only four airframes left to reposition between the two bases, I thought that there is no fun flying direct, so why not drop down low into a Scottish Valley, and well I was right!

The 'Streamers' are caused by the atmospheric conditions and a moderate to high G turn, normally around 4G or more will produce such long vortices from the wing tips. Today, the perfect scenario, a High Preasure with lowish cloud and moisture in the air resulting in todays Blip as this jet makes her final journey to the boneyard.
