Violet Gray

Wow, it has been overcast & dreary Friday & today. The wild violets are blooming all over the lawn. They are quite common around here, (they can be considered a weed) and are scattered all over lawns. I had been trying to photograph them several times, but this one caught my eye today. The bloom is a bit ragged, but it was very perky. Perky blooms are always the best :)
It may be considered a bit of a pest, but I have never minded the violets. Another flower that sings of spring...
